TotalRecovery Pro earns its name for one reason: it is designed to back up everything on a computer, from your personal notes to critical system components and even the operating system itself. It combines all the tools you would expect to find in basic and advanced backup utilities on one user interface. The program can satisfy the needs of any user, regardless of experience level.

TotalRecovery Pro is free to try, without any serious restrictions. Although the setup file is a bit large, it doesn't take more than a minute to install its components. Although the VMware Virtual Disk Development Kit is a recommendation, it can't be counted as a prerequisite for the program's core functionality.

The software provides support for multiple backup types. They are listed on the program's main user interface, in the Backup section, along with options for executing a backup job right away and for preparing a recurring backup. TotalRecovery Pro can back up user-selected files and folders or entire disk partitions. Additionally, it can back up your system to a VMware or Hyper-v format.

You can define several backup tasks, with different parameters. Once they are created, the program will list them in one of the interface's sections. Backup jobs can be executed on demand or automatically, according to a schedule. What's more, if your computer shuts down unexpectedly, the program will be able to execute missed jobs. Besides setting up schedules, it is also possible to set up email notifications for each job, so you will always know when a backup has been performed, successfully or otherwise, even if you are away.

The program comes with other useful features as well. It is capable of creating a bootable rescue media, on a CD or DVD or on a USB flash drive. Furthermore, the software allows you to activate a recovery manager, which can be loaded before Windows boots up, to recover the system. All tools are well explained, so they shouldn't prove to be a challenge.

Pros

You can back up and restore anything from single files to the operating system itself. The program allows you to schedule recurring backups, set up email notifications and more. It also allows you to create a bootable rescue media and recover the system before it boots up.

Cons

Backups are performed a bit slowly. Regardless of your computer's intended use, you will be able to back up and restore anything, without any kind of difficulties.
